What happens to chipped or broken teeth?
To restore the original shape of chipped or broken teeth usually a tooth-colored plastic is bonded to the tooth. Tooth-colored dental veneers are also very effective. They usually cost less than dental crowns and can give a boost to your smile.

What should I do if my kid's braces or wires break?
If the broken piece can be removed, remove it. If it cannot be easily removed, cover it with a cotton ball, gauze or dental wax to avoid injury to the mouth and surrounding tissue. If a wire is stuck in the gums, do not try to remove and get to the dentist as soon as possible. If the broken or loose appliance is not bothering your child, it usually does not require emergency attention.

What should I do with a knocked out tooth?
Do not touch the root of the tooth. Handle it by its crown (the top part). Gently rinse the tooth and try to reinsert it in its socket. Keep it in place by gently biting on a gauze or clean cloth. If you cannot put the tooth back in your mouth, put it in a cup of milk. In any case see your dentist immediately. You have only about 30 to 1 hour minutes to save the tooth.
